Varsen Oruncakcıel, who was born in 1914 and introduced herself by saying, “I am the last Arapgirtsi”, what amazes us is the clarity of her memory. Not only does she recount the events she herself experienced, but also provides us with information her father passed on to her. She takes us through a time tunnel to Arapgir of a century ago, to the predominantly Armenian town where people like Mikael Efendi and Aslanyan Krikor Agha strolled about on horseback wearing fezes, and to Malatya, where she latter settled.
