She has also known sorrow—the atrocities of war, separation from loved ones, and the difficulty of adjusting to living in a new country. In recent years Mannik has reunited with her lifelong friends, and together they have traveled extensively throughout Europe and Turkey. Mannik is fluent in five languages: English, Armenian, Turkish, Italian, and French. She has mastered the art of cooking, much to the delight of her diverse group of table companions—especially, her sons-in-law. Mannik is a woman of strong faith in God.
