Sarkis A. Takesian
Dr. Sarkis A. Takesian was born in 1924, the son of Armenian immigrants who fled the ravages of their Turkish homeland. He and his two sisters were born and raised in California’s San Joaquin Valley. He attended the University of California at Berkeley and served in the Marines during WWII and Korea, rising to the rank of Captain. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education at California State University Long Beach and his Doctorate in Education at the University of Southern California. He has taught at every level from elementary through undergraduate and spent the last twenty-five years of his professional career in school administration.
