Out of Turkey is a survivor's memoir, published by the Armenian Research Center and distributed by the Armenian Research Center and Wayne State University Press that was released on August 19, 1994. The book is the story of Donik ""Haji Bey"" Yessaian, as told by his son, Harry Yessaian, through the voice of Harry Yessaian's uncle, Nazar, and several other family members. Events from the book take place in Efkereh (near Kayseri); Smyrna (Izmir); Athens; Worcester, Massachusetts; and the Detroit metropolitan area. The book is edited by Dr. Dennis Papazian, and its publication has been made possible by a generous subvention from Mr. Chuck Yessaian. The book also includes a short history of Armenia written by Dr. Papazian and a bibliography for further reading. Excerpts from five advance reviews are included in this homepage.
