Michael Krekorian

Michael Krekorian was born in 1949 in Los Angeles, California, and was raised in Southern California as a second generation Armenian/American. He worked as a geologist and a car mechanic until he wrote his first short fiction in 1977. He received an MFA degree from the University of California, Irvine. Krekorian is a regular contributor to Ararat, and has published his fictions in numerous journals and magazines including Interstate, Kansas Quarterly, The Iowa Review, Stories, The Literary Review, Central Park, and Fiction International. He lives in Southern California and is working on a series of postmodern fictions based on the language of television. Krekorian teaches fiction and popular culture courses at the University of California, San Diego.
