Եթէ Պօղոս Գուբելեան, պատմուածքներու իր առաջին երեք հատորներով ընթերցողին տուաւ ափրիկեան մթնոլորտը, եւ «Պայթում»ը հանդիսացաւ փոխանցման շրջան՝ այդ միջավայրէն  դէպի նոր հորիզոններ՝ Ա.Մ. Նահանգները։

Իսք տառապանքէն ու սփիւրքեան փորձառութիւններէն ծնունթ առած ներկայ գործով՝ «Ֆրիվէյ»ներու հեղինակը կու գայ վառ գոյներով պատկերացնելու, հողմերու քմահաճոյքին յանձնուած նոր սփիւրհայութեան մը առօրեայ ապրումները, գրական գեղարուեստական էջերու վերածելով ուղեկորոյս զանգուածներու յոյսերը, յոյզերը, գլխագիր ԱՀը, անդոհանքն ու առիւնոտած կապոյտ երազները։

Շնորհիւ իր առոյգ ոճին ու բերած թարմ շունչին, «Ֆրիվեյ»ներու հեղինակը սիրուած անուն դարձած է սփիւրքահայ թէ հայրենի ընթերցողներուն։ 

With his first three short-story volumes, Boghos Kupelian portrayed the African life, which he encountered within his stay there for two decades. In contrast, his fourth book, The Blast has marked a transition period from Africa to America. Freeway is a result of his experiences in the U.S.A., where he succeeds to interpret the despairs, fears and shattered dreams as well as the expectations and the hopes of the Armenian immigrants who had found refuge in the land of freedom.

Kupelian has been a recognized author in the diaspora as well as in Soviet Armenia, where a sampling of his short stories were published in 1985.
