Anthony Slide

ANTHONY SLIDE has published over seventy pioneering works on film history, among them the first volumes dealing exclusively with early American cinema, the Vitagraph Company, and film preservation. In 1990, he was awarded an honorary doctorate of letters by Bowling Green University.

Publications include Inside the Hollywood Fan Magazine: A History of Star Makers, Fabricators, and Gossip Mongers and Hollywood Unknowns: A History of Extras, Bit Players, and Stand-Ins (both published by University Press of Mississippi).
