For the first time on CD: all three Khachaturian Symphonies, released as a pair of separately available discs. Armenian conductor Loris Tjeknavorian is the world's foremost champion of the music of Armenia's greatest composer - and as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra he conducts musicians who have this music in their blood. The First and Third Symphonies are not otherwise available, whilst The Battle of Stalingrad music now appears on CD to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the epic wartime conflict. The previous Khachaturian disc from Tjeknavorian and the Armenian Philharmonic - CD DCA 773 Spartacus/Gayaneh/Masquerade - has been a best-seller since its release last year.
