Marianne Markarian

Marianne Markarian is a second generation Armenian-American who lives in California where she works as a freelance writer. Much of her writing interests focus on her grandparents' survival of the Armenian Genocide. She received First Place honors for Juvenile Fiction at the 2003 Santa Barbara Writer's Conference for this book, which is based on an anecdote from her grandmother's life in Turkey in 1912.
