Ellen Sarkisian Chesnut

Ellen Sarkisian Chesnut was born in Mosul, Iraq of Armenian ancestry. She was educated in public schools in San Francisco. She has been an artist her entire life specializing in printmaking: monotypes and collagraphs and watercolor painting. She taught history, English and visual arts in the San Francisco Unified School District or many years.  She has also been a student of history and is the family archivist of not only her father’s history but her mother’s family as well. Years ago, her father told her “Tell my story.” His wish is finally coming to fruition.
