The anthology, through its many epochs, spans a profoundly significant time frame marked at its two ends with the prodigious achievements of two outstanding representatives of Armenian culture, Mesrop Mashtots (4th-5th centuries) and Komitas (19th-20th centuries).
Գանձարանի ժամանակագրական շրջանակներն ընդգրկում են խորապէս նշանակալի մի պատմաշրջան, որի սկիզբն ու վերջը նշանաւորուած են հայ մշակոյթի երկու աչկառու ներկայացուցիչների՝ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի (4-5րդ դդ.) եւ Կոմիտասի (19-20րդ դդ.) ստեղծագործական սխրանքներով:
