The tyrannical monarch of ancient Persia demands that his neighboring nation, Christian Armenia, renounce its faith and bow down to his sun god. The princes of the nation are confronted with an overwhelming crisis-yield to the monarch’s unequivocal demand, or suffer the certain devastating invasion by the monarch’s mighty armies.
Arising out of the national crisis are direct confrontations between the princes and the Persian monarch, disruptive internal misunderstandings, political and romantic clashes, a definitive battle between the hastily mobilized national army and the superior Persian army, and many heroic exploits.
Can the many princes of the nation’s feudal provinces arise to a common course of action, under the spiritual leadership of a strong central Church? Or will their unity be corrupted by the internal intrigue masterminded by one prince who would betray the nation and destroy its faith in the living God in order to win designation as king of the nation?
