Dark Forest in the Mountains was shot on location in 1994, on the front lines of an underreported war. Roger Kupelian, a Hollywood visual effects professional (The Truman Show, Final Fantasy, Lord of the Rings) spent 6 years combining state-of-the-art animation with documentary footage taken during his stay at the Nagorno-Karabakh front.
Dark Forest is the story of the men and women at the front lines, and chronicles the historical inevitability of the conflict. It is an account of utmost bravery in the face of incredible odds, where both the oil industry and world politics stand ready to crush an ancient people.
This special edition includes ""Hands on a Homeland,"" a special featurette filmed 10 years later, picks up where Dark Forest left off.
